Al-Asima Project

Al-Asima is one of the largest construction projects ever undertaken by Kuwait’s private sector. Situated in the Al-Sharq area, this mega-project is to be built on a self-contained plot surrounded by four roads, two of which are main arterial routes of Kuwait City.

Because of the significant financial commitment required, Al-Asima Real Estate Company has been established as a discrete entity and, in November 2006, KD 40 million – 50 percent of the company’s capital – was successfully raised via a public offering that was arranged and underwritten by National Bank of Kuwait.

Leading international firms were retained to design Al-Asima utilising state-of-the-art technology solutions. The project will represent a remarkable architectural and engineering achievement – when completed in 2010 it will host an array of facilities including a huge shopping mall within a triangular internal plaza landscaped beneath a cantilevered glass canopy. There will also be a number of multi-use halls, a health club, a cinema complex and various restaurants and cafés. The integral 70-floor tower will contain office spaces of between 1,400 and 1,600 m3 per floor, and a number of 4-star hotel apartments. Three basement levels will provide ample car parking for tenants and visiting shoppers.
